This blog is dedicated to my parents: the farmer and homemaker I owe my childhood memories to. Without them I wouldn’t have cultivated a love for the environment at such a young age. Our farm was a place I could allow my mind to escape and dream creatively. I plucked fresh corn cobs by hand and appreciated the smell of aged saddle leather. I understood the touch of a well-worn denim jacket or smell freshly fallen rain on fields of alfalfa. These are reminders that with every bittersweet goodbye, is an open door to new opportunities. The past is part of us and helps us press forward towards the future—our beacon of hope, and essentially who we are. A mentor of mine once told me that you look a lot better than you do right now, because you’re somewhere in the future. Through the power of art, media, fashion and design, I hope to inspire you to learn from your past, but also push forward and discover your true life passions. Once you find your true calling, hold tight and don’t let go, because thriving—not just existing—is the key to blooming.
